Ball Launching Unit
DM_19Visitors lift the big ball about 1 m by pulling the string. When released, the air we move passes through pipes of different widths and compresses the air at the bottom, launching the tennis ball connected at the bottom into the air. Whisper Bowls
DM_07This setup consists of two parabolic reflectors facing each other. Parabolic reflectors reflect sound in the same way that mirrors reflect light. When spoken in a whisper towards the center of one parabolic reflector, the sound reflects to the focal point of the other parabolic reflector and collects there. In this way, what the visitor says in a whisper is easily heard by the other visitor.
