Galileo thermometer
TB_16
The Galileo thermometer is named after its creator, the famous scientist
Galileo. A closed glass cylinder contains some liquid and
weighted glass bubbles. To these bubbles are attached metal labels with temperature values
written on them. When the temperature of the environment
changes, the density of the liquid in the thermometer
changes, causing some of the bubbles to float and some to sink
and the ambient temperature is determined.
